I was a rock until the morning of the wedding when my legs started to feel like rubber. Of course, my breath was taken away by my lovely bride who was incredibly gorgeous. We started by taking many portraits beginning with me and my beautiful bride-to-be. Making their second trip to North Carolina in a year, my parents were also on hand. My best man Craig, an old undergrad buddy of mine, made the trip from Atlanta.
The weather was perfect, the leaves were changing, and everything went perfectly. Among the attendees were School of Social Work alum Jim "the man in a bow tie" Seney and DiShon, who drove five hours that morning to arrive in a timely fashion at 11:00 am. There was a small reunion of sorts when fellow Florida State alum Joe made the party all the way from Gainesville, FL.
The ceremony and reception were wonderful and there was so much food that we had to deliver a good portion to the local homeless shelter. We also had a very nice dinner with all our parents at the Savoy.
That evening, folks got a bit rowdy out in downtown Asheville. With (one of) my new father-in-law Fred ("I'll stay for one drink") and Linda buying the rounds, the night extended far into the wee hours. As you can see from photos with Joe and my friend from Atlanta (via California) Jenny, never once did the whiskey glass leave my hand. Even Paul was purty rowdy, teaching the salsa teacher a few new steps.
A wonderful time was had by all and I am so glad my friends and family were here to share it.
